Katherine

Founder and Director

EMCC Senior Practitioner and ESIA Supervisor

Katherine is the Director and Founder of KP&A, a company which provides executive coaching, team coaching, leadership development, coaching supervision and action learning and The Curious Coaching Company. As a coach, Katherine specialises in working with senior and aspiring women leaders, particularly female CEOs. Katherine is passionate about empowering women into executive leadership having been on the journey to executive leadership herself. She believes that everyone should lead ‘just as they are’ and uses her coaching skills to support leaders in achieving this.

Katherine works with existing and aspiring executive leaders working with companies such as Pay.UK, CBRE, PiXL, Sky, Essex Air Ambulance, Education Development Trust, Ambition Institute and Aakash Odedra Dance as well as senior figures in local government, education and other charitable organisations.

Katherine began her career in retail management working for W.H.Smith, later providing learning and development opportunities to new leaders entering the business. She is a qualified teacher and worked as both a Head Teacher and Executive Head Teacher of a federation of schools, achieving ‘National Leader of Education’ status which enabled her to support organisations facing challenge as well as advise the Department for Education on the direction of education policy. Most recently, Katherine has been a director of and deputy to the CEO of a successful multi-academy trust. Katherine’s portfolio of responsibilities included change management, improvement strategy, learning and development, facilities management, corporate governance and human resources. Katherine has held numerous positions on boards, advising, guiding and challenging organisational improvement and success.

Matt

Facilitator, Tutor and Supervisor

EMCC Senior Practitioner and ESIA Supervisor

Matt is an experienced Leadership and Executive Coach, registered with EMCC. He coaches leaders and executives working within a range of public, commercial and not-for-profit organisations. Having had senior leadership roles in UK schools and international development, Matt understands the challenges and issues faced by those working at senior levels.

Matt began his career in UK education before becoming the headteacher of a successful school listed in the Times Top 200 State Primary Schools in 2014.
Matt then moved into international development working as a senior leader for an education charity. Working between London and Gujarat, Matt was responsible for the creation of the professional development and coaching programmes for all middle and senior leaders as well as being the leadership and pedagogical technical lead.

Matt has successfully worked with leaders and their teams to develop and enhance their understanding and application of leadership theories. Matt also has extensive experience of project design and implementation through working with culturally and geographically diverse teams.

Phil

Programme Director

BSc (Hons), NPQH, QTS, RHS Dip

Phil is experienced leader of educational settings and educational programmes. He has taught learners from 2 years old to adult, is passionate about both participant learning experiences and quality curriculum. Alongside his work at The Curious Coaching Company, Phil also currently teaches RHS programmes on behalf of Hever Castle.

Phil begun his career as a primary school teacher, quickly becoming a Head Teacher and then Executive Head Teacher for multiple primary schools. For over 25-years, he sought to develop curriculums and provision which provided learners with bespoke, inclusive and engaging experiences that enabled them to thrive, not just in academics, but also in developing who they were as people. He’s delighted to be able to bring his skills, fun and energy to The Curious Coaching Company programmes.

Sarah

Facilitator, Tutor and Supervisor

EMCC Senior Practitioner and ESIA Supervisor

Sarah is a coach, mentor and facilitator with a focus on radical kindness, curiosity and a passion for supporting people to make positive change in professional and personal contexts. Sarah is registered with EMCC. She has over 20 years’ experience of working in teams and partnerships, spanning arts, education, housing and charity sectors. She has senior leadership and board experience, understanding well the challenges and opportunities these roles can bring.

Sarah began her career in further education before moving into community arts with a large housing association in the South East. For 10 years she worked in senior leadership roles at an arts and social change charity exploring the role of arts and kindness in developing a fairer, more equitable society. She developed a values-led methodology and strategy, coached and mentored a wide range of individuals, and built partnerships with a diverse range of organisations such as schools, universities, funders, local authorities and high-profile cultural institutions (e.g. Tate Modern, Southbank Centre and National Theatre).

She is Chair of Trustees for Moving Memory Dance Theatre, an organisation promoting health and wellbeing, through dance, for older women. She became Chair and trustee of her children’s school PTA in Oct 2019 and has already tripled the number of committee members and volunteers.
